Got the Munchies? Try my Easy Shrimp Chips Recipe (Fried or Microwaved)!

Sunday October 21, 2007
Shrimp Chips If you've got the munchies, I've got an crunchy-munchy recipe that's sure to satisfy: Asian Shrimp Chips or "Crisps". These shrimp chips are crispy-wonderful, and can easily be made at home for just pennies compared to expensive potato chips. And unlike potato chips, shrimp chips literally melt in your mouth (you will be able to actually hear them melting!), so they're really fun to eat. Kids love them! Great for in front of the TV, or for your own version of happy hour (terrific with beer or my Thai Iced Tea). Shrimp chips, also known as "prawn crackers", are a popular snack food through Southeast-Asia (instead of potato chips). Great for a party, and they can easily be made ahead of time. Or use them to create a more elegant appetizer: Thai Mock Oysters. Fry some up, or microwave them for a fat-free munchie delight. ENJOY! (photo by D.Schmidt)
