A Green Dessert Recipe for St. Patrick's Day: Easy Coconut Creme Caramel!

Saturday March 14, 2009
Thai-style Creme Caramel If you're looking for a dessert recipe that tastes melt-in-your-mouth delicious and is also easy to make, try this Easy Coconut Creme Caramel Recipe. This Thai version of the classic French dessert is a cinch to make and healthier than traditional creme caramel because it's actually cream-free. The recipe calls for coconut milk instead of cream (coconut milk contains "good fats" that actually lower your cholesterol), so if you're lactose intolerant, this is a good dessert recipe for you. It's also a gluten-free recipe. Pandan paste is the ingredient that turns this dessert green (great for St. Patty's Day!), but ordinary vanilla can be used instead, and is just as delicious. Makes an elegant dessert to serve guests or take to a party, or just to please yourself. Best of all, this easy dessert can be whipped up and in the oven in just 10 minutes. ENJOY!(photo by D.
