If you'd like your pastries to have that typical Asian pastry "shine", brush a little beaten egg over the surface of each pastry. Then bake the pastries for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and flip the pastries, then bake the other side for another 15 minutes. Again, brush the tops with egg, if desired.
