3. How to Make Sweet & Sour Pork

Thai Sweet & Sour Pork
D.Schmidt for About.com
This lovely sweet and sour pork is made with a time-wise short-cut: pan-frying the pork instead of deep-frying it (and this saves everyone some calories too!). The Thais make sweet & sour pork nearly the same way as the Chinese, but with a few special Thai ingredients that really add a nice zing to the dish. Chicken can easily be substituted for the pork - both are tantalizingly tasty!

If you enjoy crab cakes, you'll love Thai fish cakes!  They're more flavorful than most Western fish cake recipes, plus they're easier to make.  You can serve them as an everyday dinner dish together with rice or over salad, and they're also terrific for a party (as pictured here) because they are small enough to serve as a finger food. Serve them at your next gathering with Thai sweet chili sauce for dipping, and see how fast they disappear!
