For a light and crunchy batter, mix the following ingredients together in a bowl:

  • 5 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 4 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, OR substitute rice flour for gluten-free diets
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • optional: 1/4 tsp. white sugar (this helps eliminate any bitterness)
For this recipe you will also need approximately 1 cup canola or other vegetable oil for frying.
